Imaginary Worlds: Invented Spaces and Places

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks to ‘Imaginary Worlds: Invented Spaces and Places.’ This exhibition invites viewers to explore visionary landscapes, fantastic cityscapes, and surreal dreamscapes crafted by contemporary artists. Blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination, the exhibition will showcase artwork that transports audiences to new and unexpected realms. Each piece serves as a portal into an artist’s unique, invented world, inspiring wonder, and curiosity. There is a heavy emphasis on worlds created by artists as opposed to preexisting fictional universes. Directly copywritten material will not be considered for inclusion in this opportunity.
This exhibition is open to all materials and mediums. 2-D and 3-D artwork will be considered for this exhibition. Indoor and outdoor installations will be considered. All work must be completed within the last four years. Artists must be 18 years or older. Artists must be living and working in the United States or Canada. Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center takes a 40% commission on all gallery sales. This exhibition will be open to the public in the Kay Daugherty Gallery of Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, from May 9, 2025, to September 21, 2025. There will be an Annmarie After Hours opening reception for the exhibition on May 9th, 2025 from 5 pm-7 pm.
Annmarie is a Smithsonian Affiliate located in scenic Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay.
