He was the National voice over artist for United Negro College Fund...”A mind is a terrible thing to waste” Bus portrayed “Marty” in Signature Theatre’s Dreamgirls, “Charley” in Virginia Stage’s Death of a Salesman, The title role in Emperor Jones at American Century Theatre. Numerous roles in local and regional theaters. His film and tv credits include: VEEP, Law and Order, The Wire, The Corner, Serial Mom, JFK, Murder at 1600, DC Noir. Bus has performed at the White House, The Kennedy Center, Also a teaching artist in their Education Department for numerous years. Chair of Children’s events at Maryland State Arts Council. Graduate of Maryland Teaching Artist Institute. Fellow - Shakespeare at the Folger. Host of “Annapolis based” cable tv “Build a boat” series. Past Artist in residence P.G., Howard, Montgomery, and Fairfax Counties He led Residency workshops at The Summit School in Edgewater, Maryland for over 13 years.

      Description:

      The Acting workshop is a hands-on interactive workshop that emphasizes listening skills and ensemble/team building. Theater games follow warm-up exercises. Developing listening leads to ensemble exercises, that leads to impromptu dramatic scene study...lots of laughs, lots of "ah-ha" moments.

      45-90 minutes duration.

    • An Evening with Frederick Douglass

      Description:

      A "before your eyes" transformation into the Maryland native Frederick Douglass. Through 1st person narrative, live music, audience interaction, this lively historical reenactment chronicles the events of this 18th century Statesman. An after presentation "in-character" question and answer period allows for a closer look into the life and times of this American hero.

      45 minutes duration.

    • Josiah Henson - The Real Uncle Tom

      Description:

      A performance arts piece with music and after performance Q & A. When Harriet Beecher Stowe heard this man's story, she wrote "Uncle Tom's Cabin", the first million seller book in America. Originally commissioned by the Smithsonian, this Maryland native comes alive with mystery, drama and intrigue.
