“Inspiring and joyful…excellent performers”

– Washington Post

The Annapolis Jazz & Roots Festival opens with an unforgettable concert featuring the award-winning international artists of Veronneau. Hear global jazz with a French twist at a hip location: the historic Peerless Rens Club in Eastport – a great spot for listening and dancing.

Veronneau has built a devoted following through performances and recordings. Their 2011 debut album Joie De Vivre/Joy of Living, which includes their hit “La Mer,” streamed over a million views  on Spotify and they’ve kept busy! They’ve released three Top 10 charting studio albums, two acclaimed live albums and additional singles with a variety of collaborators. They have appeared in international festivals, legendary clubs and intimate theaters. Working with a wide range of jazz and world musicians, they create a sound that is fresh, fun and beautiful.

At the core of the group is a husband-and-wife duo. Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau and UK guitarist Ken Avis translate the themes of their musical journeys into captivating multilingual performances of classics and original tunes from the worlds of bossa nova, French chanson, folk, blues, pop and jazz. If you missed the Summer Olympics in Paris this year, no worries. Join the Peerless Rens audience and be transported musically to the banks of the Seine.

Veronneau has toured in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, UK, the USA and Canada, appearing live on BBC radio and at prestigious venues such as Kennedy Center, Strathmore, The Hamilton and Blues Alley, enjoying numerous sold out shows. They’ve earned seven WAMMIE awards for Best Vocals, Band and Recording Artists. Among their many memorable theme shows is the recently added “Blue Tapestry,” celebrating milestone albums by Joni Mitchell and Carol King in story and song.

Lynn Veronneau – vocals
