Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2
Immerse yourself in the lush colors and evocative storytelling of Ravel’s orchestral masterpiece. From the famous sunrise to the triumph of love and rescue, this suite is considered one of the crowning achievements of French music. Daphnis et Chloé tells the story of two foundlings who are brought up by shepherds and who fall in love at an early age. They are soon kidnapped and separated, but after several adventures they are reunited.

World Première, Dr. Roydon Tse – Restless World Anew
Part of the ASO’s multi-year Embracing 21st Century Voices project, this co-commission with the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music features the award-winning Chinese-Canadian composer and educator, Dr. Roydon Tse. Restless World Anew commemorates the birth of Earth, destruction by humanity, and ultimately rebirth. Instrumentation celebrates the natural environment, mimicking the sounds of birds Tse encountered on his walks through parks in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta.

Dalí String Quartet
