Building Better People Productions Wears Our Emotions On Our Sleeves In Feeling All The Feelings, Performing for the Whole Family in Annapolis this March.
We’re Building Better People Productions (BBPP), a professional theater company offering positive live shows and classes for kids and families (and 4-time Chesapeake Family Life Magazine Favorite), that are also really enjoyable. Since 2022, we’ve performed our show about emotions, Feeling All The Feelings, for schools, libraries, and other organizations, both in-person and virtually in Maryland, Virginia, and Philadelphia. This March, we are performing for families with public shows at ArtFarm Annapolis. The play has been supported by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, first through a Fall 2021 Mini-Grant that helped develop it, and a Spring 2025 Mini-Grant partially funding these Annapolis performances.
Feeling All The Feelings introduces us to Laila, a 10-year-old girl who feels feelings so big, in fact, that she suspects they might be TOO big in other people’s eyes. She comes up with a way to express her emotions that seems to make everyone else happy. But will it work for HER? In this funny, emotional, interactive one-person play starring and written by Lynne Streeter Childress, Building Better People Productions explores the enormous range of kids’ emotions, the pressure they feel to be accepted, and the awesomeness that comes from feeling ALL of your feelings. Our play was written with the input of professionals in child mental and physical health. It runs 40 minutes and is followed by 15-minute post-show workshop. FATF was directed by DC-area director Danielle Drakes, with costumes by Stefany Thomas, logo by Darin Gilliam, and press photos by Rissa Miller.
We are thrilled to be performing at ArtFarm Annapolis, a frequent partner of ours, with 4 shows over two weekends. Showtimes are:

Emphasizing character-building themes such as kindness and respect, Building Better People produces theatrical performances featuring professional adult actors in shows geared towards young audiences. Our touring shows have performed around the DMV-area and include: Our original show, We Got It!, which focuses on empathy and has toured schools, libraries, and other area groups since 2016; Friendlier Fables and Thoughtful Tales, our original reimagining of classic stories with kinder endings that toured to families, schools and other groups online in 2021; and Bringing Back the Sun, an original show for 0-6 year olds about cooperation, developed by Lynne Childress and two other veteran teaching artists.
