Dive into how art captures memories and the passage of time with pieces that evoke nostalgia or explore historical contexts. "Time and Memories" explores the relationship between the passage of time and the memories that shape our identities, dreams, cultures, and histories. This exhibition invites artists to examine how time impacts memory—how fleeting or monumental moments are remembered, forgotten, or transformed in our minds over time.
The subjects are open to the artist's interpretation of “Time and Memories.” They can vary from portraits to surreal landscapes through various mediums, including painting, photography, digital art, drawing, and other 2D mediums. "Time and Memories" captures the fluidity of time and its ability to shape our perceptions. Artists are invited to reflect on personal and collective memories, historical events, and how the intersection of time and memory influences our present and future.
Whether it’s childhood nostalgia, the commemoration of historical moments, or the contemplation of lost or forgotten memories, this exhibition seeks to create an emotional connection with viewers, encouraging them to reflect on their own experiences.
The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County invites all Anne Arundel County residents (ages 18 and older) to enter the “Time and Memories” Exhibition. The jurors will consider any two-dimensional work following the guidelines below. Works selected will be displayed at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport between concourses C & D (pre-security) departures from March 25-July 13, 2025.
